Rachel has worked for the Autosub team at NOC (National Oceanography Centre) for 2 years. She processes the condensed data collected from Autosub into a format that can be used by scientists. Rachel also examines the data associated with how Autosub behaves in the water. Rachel enjoys her job. She spent 11/12 years writing software before working for NOC.
Rachel has a degree in Electronics and studied at Swansea University.
Her ‘A’ Levels are: Maths, Chemistry and French
Her advice for students:
Don’t worry too much about the future career wise, do what you enjoy.
She would definitely recommend students to take a degree in engineering as the field is wide and varied – there is a choice of careers in many fields.
