The RRS James Cook will be 13 degrees North of the Equator in January 2016. A group of scientists from Durham, Birmingham and Cardiff Universities are looking at how the Mid Atlantic Ridge works. I am joining the NERC funded expedition as a teacher at sea. I’ll be posting blogs about life on board a research vessel, the roles of the scientists and crew and preparing resources that can be used in schools and institutions regarding the science of the MAR. You can also follow me on twitter and FB. The link: Where are we? – shows the exact real time location of the James Cook.

Please do let me know if you have any questions for the scientist or if you want me to prepare any resources. I can come and visit you on my return: teacheratsea@aquinasac.uk
